I have been on a 21 day juice feast and in a few short days it is coming to an end. When i set out on this journey my intentions were simple – aside from physical weight loss, I wanted to gain mental and spiritual clarity, and to regain my focus and discipline. I must say this has really been a journey. Obviously, the absence of food was tough, but of course I expected that. When you decide to go 21 days without consuming food you know it’s going to be difficult. I’ve done a juice feast and master cleanses in the past, but the most I’ve gone is 7 days. So, I was extremely intimidated to attempt 21 days. I honestly did not think I could do it, so for me, I knew I needed some accountability. I decided to do a daily video blog to share my journey and it was the best thing I did (if you’d like to see my blogs visit my you tube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/gvisionconsulting/videos?view=0). It sort of gave me purpose and it allowed me to see there were people pulling for me and encouraging me to complete it. If it were not for that, I would’ve given up a long time ago. Now, that I’ve almost completed the journey, I can say I’m glad I did it. There is something so empowering about accomplishing something you never thought you could do. As I got past the focus on food and what I wasnt able to eat, I saw the benefits. I had more energy, I gained self confidence, and I began to get clarity. The main thing I wanted to attain was some clarity on how to proceed with my business. I have a lot of ideas, but didn’t have any real focus and I needed to get that. I also knew that if I did something this hard for 21 days it would become habitual and I’d gain discipline. I know without doubt that I can do anything I set my mind to. At the end of the day, this whole process was mental. Once I set my mind to it, and told myself that I could do this, it was a done deal. Just as it was in this experience, it’s the same in life. We’ve heard it so much that it has become cliche, but you can do whatever you set your mind to. In most situations, if not all, it’s mind over matter. I didn’t get every answer that I sought to find, but this has been a catalyst to get those answers. This is a good jumping off point to try some new things with my business and to attempt more physical challenges. I do know that I’m finally going to start and complete the 60 day insanity challenge. In the past I was so intimidated and afraid to do it, but I now realize there is no physical challenge I can attempt that will ever be harder than what I’ve been through on this 21 day juice feast. I KNOW if I can do this I can do ANYTHING. I’m excited about my future and what’s on the other side of this experience. I believe there are some good things to come and this was just preparation. So, now that you’ve heard about my experience, what is it in your life that you’d like to accomplish? Where can you push yourself beyond your comfort zone? If you wil figure that out and attempt it, I believe you will discover that your best self is on the other side of it. Until next time… Peace, Love & Fitness! ]]>
