I’ve completed my juice feast and I’ve advanced to the next phase. As you may recall, I had specific objectives with the juice feast. First, I wanted to get some balance and get still so I could hear from my inner spirit what I need to do next as I’m transitioning in my life. Second, I wanted to regain the discipline I need to progress in my eating and exercise regimen. I especially wanted to be able to take my workouts to a new level. Well, I’m pleased to say I have done that.I’ve started taking Cross Fit, which is quite INTENSE! For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, Cross Fit is a strength and conditioning system built on constantly varied, if not randomized, functional movements executed at high intensity. For a while now I’ve wanted to try it, but I was too intimidated. I knew it could get me the results I want, but you have to earn it. Truth be told my brother pushed me over the edge. He has been doing this training for a few weeks and he’s excited with his results. Once I heard that, and got a perspective from someone actually doing it, I was all in. Prior to getting his feedback all I’d seen we’re the awesome Reebok commercials demonstrating Cross Fit. Here’s what I love about an intense workout and why I can’t resist torturing myself with it..it teaches me that I can handle pretty much anything. When you challenge yourself to new levels, especially a workout you didn’t think you could do, and you actually do it, it does wonders for your self esteem and self confidence. You realize you’re much stronger than you ever thought, and that mindset extends to the emotional arena as well as the physical. Truth be told, working out is more mental than physical anyway. If you’re defeated in your mind, you can’t do it. Henry Ford said it best, “whether you think you can or you think you can’t -you’re right!” So anyway, now that I’m in my first week of this, I’m already proud of myself because I’m doing things I never thought I could do and the best part is I’m only going to get better as I get stronger. I can already see that my juice feast was a success because I’m taking on challenges I shied away from before. I’m excited to see how it’s all going to workout in the end. I will definitely keep you posted. Until next time… Peace, Love & Fitness!]]>
